TEACHING LANGUAGE

Official teaching language is German with some courses of Architecture, Interior Architecture, Business Management and General Management taught in English.

The following Master degree programs are completely taught in English:

  • Software Technology
  • Photogrammetry & Geoinformatics
  • International Master of Interior Architectural Design (IMIAD)

LANGUAGE REQUIREMENTS

Courses conducted in English in our Business School:

  • B2 Common European Framework of Reference
  • score of at least 80 TOEFL-iBT
  • overall band score of at least 6 IELTS (with a minimum band score of 6.0 in writing and speaking and 6.0 in reading and listening)

GERMAN LANGUAGE COURSES

We offer four-week German Intensive courses prior to each semester as well as a wide range of German courses during each semester. Courses cost 100 € and will earn 3 ECTS credits.

FOOD

A cafeteria serving snacks and small hot meals is located in the main building.
The main student dining hall serves lunch from Monday to Friday.

LIVING EXPENSES

In general, students will need about 900 € monthly to cover their living expenses:

  • rent: approx. 310 € to 385 € per month
  • health insurance: 120 € per month
  • public transportation: 200 € per semester
  • food: approx. 180 € per month
  • miscellaneous: approx. 150 € per month

VISA (for non-EU citizens)

Obtaining a visa for Germany takes at least 6 weeks. We recommend applying for a visa 6-8 weeks before departure to avoid late arrival.

  • International and German Students, max. 25 students in total

  • Basic German Language Course for all levels in and outside the classroom (international students only) – approx. 12h
  • Intercultural Workshop in and outside the classroom (all students) – approx. 10.5h
  • Interdisciplinary Group Project in an international team (all students) – approx. 15 h
  • Company visits & expert talks (all students)
  • Cultural program in Stuttgart and area, city tour through Stuttgart (all students), two excursions/day trips to cities in Southern Germany

Tba, approx. 1.000€ for non-HFT students, scholarships might be available
